About The Ancient Tarot of Lombardy (Ferndinado Gumppenberg - 1810)
The Ancient Tarot of Lombardy was originally published by cardmaker, Ferndinado Gumppenberg, in 1810 in Italy. The Ace of Cups bears his name. It was printed from fine metal engraving plates and hand-coloured.
This deck uses unique artwork and is drawn in a simple, finely detailed neoclassical style, with card titles in Italian and the majors numbered in Roman numerals. The pips follow a clean, elegant Marseilles pattern.
